Green Buildings Open House, featuring National Tour of Solar Buildings, October 5, 2002

Fall is a great time to be out and about, so why not spend some time on Saturday, October 5 visiting solar and other green homes and buildings in your area? From 10am to 4pm on Saturday, October 5, hundreds of homes and buildings throughout the Northeast will be open for free tours from the public during the Green Buildings Open House, featuring the National Tour of Solar Buildings.

The Governor’s Office of Energy and Community Services is a sponsor of this event, which is an annual opportunity to learn more about using renewable energy sources to heat, cool, and power your home or business.

Highlights in New Hampshire include:

A renewable energy festival, featuring displays, exhibitors and home tours, in the Peterborough area;

Homes using photovoltaics, passive solar, straw bale construction and radiant floor heating in central New Hampshire;

The award-winning Society for Protection of NH Forests (SPNHF) building in Concord, which features photovoltaics, earth berms, passive solar design, passive cooling, native materials, alternate greywater, composting toilets and more;

And much more!

You can find the complete listings for your area on the NESEA website at https://www.nesea.org/buildings/2002openhouse/listings.html.
